Employee Spotlight: Celebrating 10 Years with David Verner

At Williams Engineering, we believe that the heart of our success lies in the strength and dedication of our people. This year, we’re proud to celebrate a major milestone for one of our own—David Verner, who marks his 10-year anniversary with us!

A Testament to Hard Work

David’s journey with Williams Engineering has been a testament to hard work, perseverance, and quiet resilience. With a high school education and a diverse background in hands-on work, David brought with him a wealth of practical experience when he joined our team. Before coming to Williams, he held a variety of tough, honest jobs: from operating forklifts at a Lowe’s warehouse, to clearing rights-of-way on gas and power lines with a tractor, to putting up metal pre-fab buildings. Most of his work outside of Williams was in home construction—framing houses and tackling remodeling jobs, a skillset that’s given him a sharp eye for detail and a no-nonsense approach to problem-solving.

At Williams, David works in Shipping & Receiving—loading and unloading trucks, pulling orders, and making sure everything gets where it needs to go. It’s a role that demands consistency, organization, and physical stamina, and David has brought all of that—and more—for the past decade. He’s known for his reliability and his strong work ethic, but what really stands out is his steady, positive attitude.

A Journey of Faith & Quiet Perseverance

David’s personal story is as inspiring as his professional one. Having overcome alcoholism and drug abuse without rehab—through sheer willpower and faith—David’s journey is a powerful reminder of strength and transformation. “I thank the Lord for that,” he says, humbly.

Outside of work, David stays just as busy. He enjoys riding four-wheelers, working in the yard, and above all, caring for his mother, who’s losing her eyesight and needs help getting around. David spends about 80% of his off-time with her, keeping a watchful eye and making sure she’s taken care of. It’s clear his sense of responsibility and care doesn’t stop at the job site.

When asked for a few of his favorite sayings, David shares, “What goes around, comes around” and “Always think positive.” Words that seem to perfectly capture the way he moves through life—with a grounded sense of justice and an unwavering belief in better days ahead.

And if you’re ever wondering what to serve David for lunch? Make it a chili slaw cheeseburger or a plate of tacos—you’ll be speaking his language.

David, thank you for your 10 years of dedication, your hard work, and the example you set every day. Williams Engineering is better because of people like you.
