Williams 1-3/8" x 20' Hollow Core Rock Bolts were used on this project to a tension load of 50,000 lbs. on each of the 12 legs of a radar dome foundation. High wind loads were anticipated on this mountain top installation. The design could have been either a massive concrete foundation or a positive tie down and grout to the rock strata with anchors. Choosing the anchor option saved thousands of dollars. The contractor was pleasantly surprised that he could install, set, and tension the anchor in approximately 15 minutes after drilling the hole. The project is due for completion in early 1994. |

Main Reason They Chose Williams |
||||||||||||
| According to Lee Powers of CCI Communications the positive results from past experience with Williams Hollow Core Anchors, the ability to test each anchor prior to grouting and the technical assistance that Williams offered was considered to be a big plus when making their buying decision. | ||||||||||||
