The Elizabethtown Water Co. needed to upgrade the Weir against overturning and down stream protection. Killiam Assos designed the use of our bar and grout systems to anchor into the bedrock. After placing precast units a 4" hole was drilled thru and into the existing weir, the entire height of hole was filed with Wil-X Grout through an injection tube. The grout was allowed to set for 48 hours to prevent leakage of water from between the precast blocks joints during the next drilling operation. The contractor then using a rotary drill, Redrills the holes to a 1-5/8" dia. to accommodate the Fastloc T Resin Cartridge. Use of both fast and slow set cartridges used to allow for prestressing. The engineer specifies the anchors be torque-Tensioned in realizing the need for a tensioned anchor and the time saved in loading over 100 anchors |
