The city of Corpus Christi, Texas is experiencing, like that of most coastal cities in the U.S., the problem of erosion on structures lining the sea coast. It was discovered the seawall used to absorb the energy form the waves was beginning to erode and slide into the Gulf of Mexico. The design chosen to correct this problem did not come without obstacles. The design consisted of an underwater connection of a new bulk head to the existing structure. For this reason, Williams Form was asked to provide Wil-bond 100 epoxy and #8 epoxy coated grade 75 All-Thread Rebar. Approximately one thousand bars where placed to embedment depths of 20 inches in the first phase of this project. It was found the products performed extremely well in water temperatures above 60° Fahrenheit.
